Condo Act Review-What the Condo Act Changes Mean For You
Once the NS Government completes the regulations required under Bill 38 (The Amendments to the Condo Act) CCI Nova Scotia Chapter and the Condominium Owners of Nova Scotia (CONS) propose to hold at least two joint sessions to explain the changes and their effect.
Presenters are Jo-Ann Hamilton, NS Registrar of Condominium and Patrick Cassidy, QC, ACCI, Cassidy Nearing Berryman.

Understanding the Complexities of Insurance– The Do's and Don't of Condo Insurance
Learn about the philosophy of insurance from an Insurance Agent’s point of view; hear the true stories of consequences from a Property managers experience; and listen to a Lawyer about due diligence and to know when to not get involved.

Board Conduct and Responsibilities-If Elevators Had Ears
There are vast differences between the Board Responsibilities of a self-managed condo corporation and one that has a management company. Learn what these differences are and how a Board should best focus their energies. No doubt issues will arise throughout the year that will require the Board of Directors to exercise confidentiality, due diligence, and strong moral values. This session will discuss procedures and best practices that should take place in the Boardroom.

Reserve Fund Studies-Aging Buildings and Roof Overhead
Preparing for the inevitable aging and deterioration of your buildings major components; prioritizing repairs; and establishing effective contract management are essentials to every capital project. Learn the purpose of a Reserve Fund Study and what your Corporation and Management Company need to do to ensure yours can become a valuable tool for planning for the long term preservation of your building. Minimizing resident inconveniencies and creating a solid communications plan are both key to a successful building rehabilitation plan.

Refund Policy - CCI-Nova Scotia will offer a full refund on registration for seminars if your cancellation is received 14 days before the course date. If cancellation is made less than 14 days before the course date a credit for the value of the registration fee will be given to apply towards a course offered in the future. If no cancellation is received and the registrant is a no-show then no refund or credit will be issued.
