seminars, courses and events for the upcoming year has something for everyone.

Course and Seminar Series 2011-2012
- New and Improved Condominium Act - What Does it Mean To You And Your Condominium Corporation
November 8th, 2011, 7-9 pm
Presenter will be Patrick I. Cassidy, QC, ACCI
The Condominium Act (Bill 38) and the new regulations became effective September 1st. Pat will speak about the impact of these changes on the Condominium Community and answer questions.
Location is the Nova Scotia Association of Realtors (NSAR) Auditorium, 7 Scarfe Court in Dartmouth (next to the SPCA). Scarfe Court is a short cul-de-sac street located off of Joseph Zatzman Drive between Wright Avenue and Akerley Boulevard in Dartmouth.
Registration Fee: CCI Members-$40 per person for the first registrant from a member and $30 per person for each additional registrant from the same member. Non Members-$80 per person.

Board Responsibility and Authority
Presenter will be Gregory D. Auld, LL.B and a property manager. Time is around mid-March, place to be determined.
The presenters will examine the scope of authority and good governance practices of condominium boards in dealing with everyday issues or questions.
CM 100 – Fundamental Management Principles
CM 100 is directed towards board members, condominium managers, or industry professionals who want to learn about condominium management. The course reviews condominium concepts in the Condominium Act, and explains the governing authority, structures, roles and responsibilities in condominium. The course will cover insurance and reserve fund studies. It introduces key management issues and styles. Finally it covers the effective conduct of meetings.
This course will be presented in around mid-April in two three hour sessions (9am-12noon) over two Saturday mornings The location for the presentation to be determined (probably Saint Mary's University).
The presentation will be lead by Patrick I. Cassidy, QC, ACCI supported by three property managers from three different property management companies.
Registration Fee: CCI Members-$80 per person for the first registrant from a member and $60 per person for each additional registrant from the same member (fee covers both days) Non Members-$160 per person

Refund Policy - CCI-Nova Scotia will offer a full refund on registration for seminars if your cancellation is received 14 days before the course date. If cancellation is made less than 14 days before the course date a credit for the value of the registration fee will be given to apply towards a course offered in the future. If no cancellation is received and the registrant is a no-show then no refund or credit will be issued.
